Since the 1960´s, BUMINAL is working with hydrolyzed protein to attract different kind of fruit flies, especially olive and Mediterranean fruit flies. It soon became the most efficient bait and attractant worldwide.

It is an integral part in IPM and was the main product of the Egyptian state to defeat the fruit fly plague in the last decades.

BUMINAL is the most effective lure to attract fruit flies by mass trapping and for controlling fruit fly infestation, it is an indispensable part in IPM.

Mixed with a pesticide, the use of BUMINAL reduces the application rate of the pesticide because the fruit flies are actively attracted and ingest BUMINAL instead of the pea fruit.

In this process, BUMINAL on the one hand promotes the fruit fly’s salivary flow. This leads to a stronger feeding behavior and the added pesticide is absorbed in sufficient, lethal quantities.

In addition, contact poisons can be dispensed, since the poison uptake is guaranteed by the feeding behavior.

This makes it possible to reduce environmental damages as well as crop protecting costs just by using BUMINAL.
